Just Marvelous

After coming home from seeing Iron Man, I plopped down in my chair and checking out Digg I discovered something that made Iron Man a little better. Some guy posted a video that he filmed during the credits after Iron Man. You see, the guys at Marvel decided to wet all the comic-book nerd’s appetite a bit by placing a 30 second clip that has Tony Stark coming home and finding Nick Fury, played by Sam Jackson, and he tells Stark that he wants to recruit him for the “Avenger Initiative” a.k.a. The Avengers.
Shit.
That’s so cool, for me anyway, because what that means is that they’re going to start integrating the different Marvel movies. Because so far movies have just been about one hero (Spiderman) or a specific team (X-men) and never has there been a movie where they blend two teams/individuals together as they so often do in comic books.
So now that I knew about the Nick Fury thing, I went and surfed around and discovered that there are already plans in the work for not only Iron Man 2, but Thor and Captain America, Ant Man and the Black Panther. Those are four more characters that are part of the Avengers. The only superheroes that weren’t listed to have their own movies that were a significant part of The Avengers were The Vision, Scarlet Witch, and Hawk-Eye, but my guess is that they will be what is added to the Avengers movie once it comes out to give it a bit of new flavor.
In the midst of my surfing for more info I discovered that this “character integrating” has already begun, apparently in the new Hulk movie that’s coming out Tony Stark makes an appearance. Awesome.
